ANYwebcam.com Vs WeAll.com

Members of ANYwebcam.com are currently experiencing rapid feature and structural enhancements that are creating a buzz about the community.

So What are these changes and how do they fit into the new site WeAll.com?

WeAll.com will be 100% new / fresh, including a total revamp of the sites look and feel along with redeveloped tools and features. To help with the future transition to WeAll.com we have started to release intermediate improvements within the ANYwebcam.com structure, basically we are re-shaping the existing site so it will fit “snuggly” into its new skin.

To date we have seen a number of changes including:

1. New Top Level Navigation.
In the past ANYwebcam has been built around multiple frames (one for the Cam and Chat List, one for the Navigation and one for the content) this has worked well however has its limitations in moving towards a more fluid structure (its a little “old’skool”). The eventual goal is for WeAll.com to be housed in one frame, we have moved towards this goal by removing the old navigation frame, leaving us with 2 frames.

2. Member Profiles.

WeAll.com will be all about the people, and therefor will have greatly expanded profiles compared to what ANYwebcam currently features. Members will have the ability to manage a “friends” list as well as display information regarding their interests / hobbies and subscribed “groups”. The WeAll.com member profiles require a solid structure and what we have done currently in ANYwebcam.com is to help members become familiar with some new tools, and give us some elbow room for the pending transition.

3. Look and Feel.

ANYwebcam.com is startind to appear a little different, however its is not going to become the final design for WeAll.com. What we are doing is starting to introduce a few styles and colors that will be used in WeAll.com, this is best displayed in the new “News Archive” section on ANYwebcam.com. WeAll.com will utilize a few of the familiar design standards ensuring the best possible user experience.

We will continue to update members on ANYwebcam.com and interested eyeball on WeAll.com of the improvements being made. In the meantime enjoy yourselves and all the cool enhancements that are being released.

WeAll are very excited about whats happening, and cant wait to show you around our new home soon.

i like the idea of keeping things new and fresh but having been a member of awc from near on the start

PLEASE DONT GO CHANGING THE NAME

  2. admin Says:

Changing the name from ANYwebcam.com to WeAll.com is a decision that was not made lightly and one that we believe will ensure a successful future for the community.

  3. r0gu3 Says:

im sure existing members wont like that, perhaps you should have aked us what we thought about the name change

don’t speak for us rogue. What you’re saying is that you yourself are not happy with the name change. I am quite happy… I can see exactly what they’re trying to do, and what direction they’re going in… and I’m excited by this. I think this will work wonders. The internet has changed from a ’sitting watching’ experience to a ‘getting involved and becoming part of something’ experience. And WeAll.com encapsulates that perfectly.

I think the changes will be good. Plus… it’s just a name, it’s not going to change the people you talk to, and surely that’s the important part.

What I’d like to know is whether or not our cams will finally be broadcast using Flash instead of the dreaded Java??

  6. Mnnorth1 Says:

I suppose it’s been said somewhere but do those who have a lifetime gold or silver membership still have it on WeAll?

  7. admin Says:

On transition to WeAll.com existing members of ANYwebcam.com will be have their membership level automatically transfered over, so YES if you hold a Lifetime ANYwebcam.com membership, you will have a Lifetime WeAll.com membership of the same level.

In my opinion a name change is a wrong decision, why spend 7 years building up a good name to change it. If Myspace or Youtube changed their names it would be disastrous for them ! Unless you are trying to avoid your past.? Maybe its the pronouns in a web site name you are after. I dunno, seems odd.

  9. Bad4Good Says:

AS it looks the change of name is a ‘done deal’ no matter what we say. But here’s my opinion on the matter anyway.

    WeAll sounds….

    wishywashy and insignificant

more likely to induce a reaction of ’so what’ than ‘we all… what? wow let’s go check it out’

more like a watersports enthusiast site

not at all like a site where webcams feature heavily, as opposed to anywebcam.com where the intent is clear

a bad move considering that the web community are notoriously fickle and will happily move on to another site if they don’t approve. Brand loyalty is not something you just throw away by changing your name for no good reason. I don’t believe weall is any more likely to attract traffic than the well established AWC brand.

    My advice,

Add new features and release v5 by all means. That keeps it freash and attracts more use.

    But don’t change the name.

The name change has been spoken about a lot in the past and will continue to no doubt be a passionate topic. Please understand that our role in this community is to provide you with tools and features that allow you to interact freely with other members of the site, and to market the community in such a way that more and more people will become involved. After many discussions it is our conclusion that a re-brand towards a more people focused community will be best in the growth of the community for the future. The tools will always be there and will always be being improved, growth of the community will not come from the development of tools, it will come from the people that use them.
